Our home island of Negros Occidental declared a state of calamity in the wake of Typhoon Odette [Rai]— a disaster that wreaked so much havoc in its wake.
With local national elections in full swing this becomes a double edged sword. Those working on the ground are often hampered by show boating politicians who have until now been largely absent to local citizens and constituents.
Badly needed resources are available to those favored by the current administration and withheld from others — even if they serve in official capacity. Local officials are interrupted in their work to attend to posturing aspirants coming along for the ride in the hope of drumming up voter support.

Who are authentic and who are the pretenders?
In the meantime a popular and hard working vice president does not only lack the badly needed government support required for all the relief efforts she manages and has mobilized. Simply because the petty president and even pettier presidential aspirant he serves is jealous of the public support she has gained.
This is the state of our nation — with COVID-19 on its third year highlighting the inept and corrupt office of the presidency — versus the reliable and constant service generated from the office of the vice president.
People are suffering and where they were more patient and allowing in the past — we are now rising up and raising our voices in dissent at all the piled up atrocities and our pent up rage.
Rodrigo Roa Duterte is the worst president in the history of the Philippines and now he is backing the son of the second worst leader of our nation — whose running mate is his own thieving daughter. This is truly the last straw for all Filipinos.
These pestilential politicians are the nation’s true catastrophe. They need to get out of the way of those who serve truly and well. They need to go — ASAP!
The Philippines is sick and tired of the dictatorship wreaked by Ferdinand Marcos. It will not be yoked again by either his bumbling inept minion or his bumbling inept son. #neveragain
