Bali beckons East West Women for a week of transformational exploration. The enchanting journey of voice and the powerful medicine of healing instruments opens us up to reconnect, discover, and develop our creative essence.

Sounding The Sacred Feminine facilitated by mother and daughter, Michele Averard and Charli Kornblum, is a six day retreat — a women’s sound quest.

Our venue — a beautiful sound dome aptly named Askara Sound Temple in Ubud, Bali — sits at the edge of a tropical rainforest where cascading trills of the river running below were our constant companion. A beautiful labor of love created by Chris Prawita of Bliss Wellness.

Nourishing our soul through sound journeys and circles, vocalizing and toning, a womb and fire ceremony, song and story sessions, drumming and singing, breathwork, and other practices especially designed for this event.

For 27 years Michêle has conducted courses for women which focus on the celebration of femininity and the healing of emotional and psychological issues from childhood through the use of various sound techniques.

She has worked with children, teaching sound awareness, basic energy work and musical improvisation. She has collaborated in many musical projects. Twelve years ago she formed and continues to direct an all-women’s chanting group called “Las Voces de Gaia”.

Charli & MichêleHarmonic Sounds

Charli is a holistic voice practitioner, vocal coach, sound therapist, song weaver and overtone singer. Her intent is to share the freedom and healing in liberating her sound for all who encounter that expression.

Encouraging others to also explore and sing our truth so we may all shine in authenticity in the world — in an honest and loving space — aligned with our vibration.

With their caring guidance we immersed ourselves in a week of insightful vocal exploration.

Amid lush green growth, in the humid June heat of the equatorial tropics, in communion with birdsong and rainfall, in fields of fluorescent rice — giving voice to allowing and expressing our true selves.
