Tara, whose name means star or she who ferries across, is a Bodhisattva of compassion. In Tibetan, Tara is known as Dölma (Sgrol-ma), or She Who Saves. In particular she represents compassion in action — as she steps from her lotus throne to help sentient beings.
Tara is the Mother of all the Buddhas, the essence of compassion in action. Her right foot is slightly extended, because she is ready to leap to the aid of beings. Her right hand is opened out on her right knee, in the gesture of generosity. Her left hand holds the stem of a lotus flower, which is blossoming next to her left ear.
Tara is striking in her greenness. She is represented as a beautiful voluptuous nubile young woman, clad richly in silks and jewels, the color of her luscious skin is green.
In some myths Tara’s origins is said to have been given by Amoghasiddhi Buddha, her spiritual consort — who is himself green. Both Tara and Amoghasiddhi are connected, in the Five-Buddha Mandala, with the element Air — also associated with that color.
Green Tara is a forest goddess and at times is shown clad in leaves. She inhabits Pure Land — pristine, lush and verdant — it is filled with precious gems.
Peaceful and wrathful, beautiful and powerful — Tara is the actuality of wisdom and compassion. She is sensual and sexual — empty yet fully manifest, and as real as we are. She transcends dualistic limitations and leads us beyond duality — to the infinite bliss and emptiness that is our true nature.
A new Earth is being born. Mother Nature is a conscious, sentient Being. She is our Cosmic Mother. She has many names — some call her Green Tara. Modern civilization has forgotten to honor the Mother Creator, Goddess Gaia.
This disconnect from Divine Mother is our true fall from grace. In order to heal our own lives, we need to reconnect with Mother Nature. The time has come for the ascension of Mother Earth.
Her electromagnetic frequency is rising and ascending us all along with her. It is time to align with the Mother again.
The more we attune our lives with her energy, the more blissful the process will be. This is the most radical transformation of human existence.
It is time to love Goddess Life again. She is our true savior.
